I had the privilege of being nominated as a candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Greater Los Angeles Student Visionaries of the Year campaign. Student Visionaries of the Year is a seven-week leadership development program that runs from January 19th, 2023 to March 10th, 2023 to raise money and help support the LLS mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.   

It is an incredible honor to be a part of such a moral and future outlooking cause which is why I am writing today to inquire about the support that can possibly be received for my campaign.

I have created a team of committed friends and family to partner with me on this journey. Together, we have set a fundraising goal of 100,000 dollars, and have chosen research as the LLS mission pillar to represent throughout our campaign.  

Money raised helps LLS, the largest nonprofit dedicated to creating a world without blood cancers, advance initiatives like funding cutting-edge research and treatments. LLS has invested more than $1.5 billion in cancer research since 1949, leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics, and personalized medicine that are improving and saving patients’ lives.

Because of my passion and wants to immerse in the medical field especially considering a future as an oncologist or a biotechnologist, the reasoning for my pillar is the sole purpose of benefiting the future of research which can perpetrate a desire and an incredibly developed understanding of medicine which saves live. Through various interactive college-supported studies and activities focusing on the future of medicine the heartfelt spot I have for medical research is within me throughout the entire campaign. My campaign will support the critical work of LLS in hopes that one day no one will have to grow up without the ones they love. With your help, I can reach my goal and directly impact the fight against blood cancers.

There are multitudes of young children ranging from the ages of mere months to as old as many of us who are diagnosed with the most common type of childhood cancer: acute lymphoblastic leukemia and most are robbed of the normal childhood that they have dreamed of having. In honor of many of these children, my team and I are raising money on behalf of the Leukemia and lymphoma society in advocacy for research in order to enhance and better allow for governmental funding on current and future developing medicine and drugs to allow for a future of cancer-free patients. In such a world with constantly developing AI cancer treatments that are personalized and unique to oneself, it is our entitlement to propel this future for our needs our parents, our families, and our future kids to live in a world where we do not have to fret the death of our loved ones. It would be an honor if anyone and everyone could donate as much as they are capable of sharing in order to reach this dream of a guaranteed future!
